WHAT IS PARA TRACK & FIELD?

Para Track & Field is an adaptive sport that allows athletes with physical, visual, or neurological impairments to compete in a variety of track and field events. It is part of the Paralympic Games and follows classification systems to ensure fair competition among athletes with different disabilities. You don’t need experience to come out to play or practice! First timers welcome.
Athletes compete in events such as:
🏃♂️ Sprints & Distance Races – 100m, 200m, 400m, and longer distances
🚴♂️ Wheelchair Racing – Athletes use racing wheelchairs for high-speed track events
💪 Throws – Shot put, discus, javelin, and club throw
🦿 Jumps – Long jump and high jump, with prosthetics or other adaptive techniques
Practice Schedule & Location
Our Spring Para Track & Field practices will begin mid to late April and run through June. Practice times will be posted below, however may be subject to change with weather, and or track availability. Stay tuned for updates, and get ready to train, compete, and push your limits with Adaptive Warrior KC! Please RSVP if you plan to come so we can add you to our list, as if things change (weather can impact Spring practice often) we can notify you immediately.
